NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel Review

Hey everyone! NYX had free shipping with no minimum purchase a little while back and I definitely took advantage of that offer! I ended up purchasing the NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel that I'm going to review for you today!

Claims & Benefits

This claims to help tame your unruly brows and that you can use this clear gel over powder or pencil to 'seal the deal.' It also claims that the formula is non-sticky and that it is comfortable enough to wear all day. I have some longer eyebrow hairs that I don't cut very short because they give the appearance of a more full brow which I like. With that being said, those brow hairs definitely need to be tamed and controlled as much as possible! That's why I decided to pick up this clear brow gel and put it to the test!

I purchased mine for $8 online from the NYX website. You can also purchase it from Ulta for $5.99 USD. 

How It Worked on my Brows

I made sure to get a clear gel because I apply enough colour onto my brows that I really don't need to finish up my brows with more pigment. I also really liked the brush wand that it came with because it does a great job at coating my eyebrows and it is very easy to use.  This eyebrow gel made my brows crunchy and flaky leaving white flakes on my brows.

I have used the clear gel from Rimmel back in the day and have repurchased it several times. The Rimmel packaging is clear and you can see the clear gel turn a different colour due to the wand being combed through my brows then inserted back in to the tube. It definitely picks up some pigment that can be seen in the tube which is now mixed in with the clear brow gel. It will not be nearly as noticeable with the NYX gel unless I look inside of the bottle because I won't be able to notice in from the exterior packaging.

The packaging initially started to crack on the cap and then it totally fell off. It wasn't even because I was twisting it on too tight, it was just not made well. The spoolie was attached to the wand that was still in tact but the product ended up drying out on me because I could no longer close it like I used to and one piece of the packaging came off.
